Why do other Custom Cake's cost so much?

The most common question with Custom Cakes is why do other Cake Companies charge so much money for Custom Cakes? Well.. You pay for their time, skill, and even the name of the Company if it's from a popular place. Depending on what you're willing to compromise on, you can get a cheaper (but still delicious) cake! It can sometimes be very difficult to stack as many layers as are in a typical 2 tiered cake.. If you want to save money the trick is to buy multiple small cakes that are not stacked! Custom Cake companies charge for more layering, and more icing that they use through out the cake along with edible decorations, fondant, and so on. The less a cake has the cheaper it gets! @cakesbybrigitte, I would be willing to compromise with families on low budget incomes, as well as families with a lot of children! Making their little ones have the best affordable birthday ever!!
